Software Factories: From Success to Scale
October 22 — Conference Day · 2:35 PM – 2:55 PM
Lessons from running a successful Software Factory for the last 18 months, and variable success in expanding it to the entire company. Why Software Factory initiatives fail, how they can succeed, and a picture of the organisational challenges they need to overcome.
These are lessons from the front-line: the good, the bad, and the ugly. Equip yourself with practical guidance on how to progressively implement the technical and organisational transformation that Software Factories entail.
Josh Wulf is the technical lead of Production Line Engineering at Camunda, and lead of the AI Tools and SDKs pod, which has been a Dark Factory for the past 18 months. He programmed for 40 years but hasn't written a line of code in the last year and a half, while leading a cybernetic team that produces 10x its previous output. At Camunda, they automate business processes across multiple industries and have turned their technology on the SDLC itself — their core business process. The future is here, it's just not evenly distributed, even inside Camunda.
